PRC RESULTS: November 2017 Geologist Board Exam List of Passers

MANILA, Philippines – The November 2017 Geologist board exam results including the full list of passers, top 10 examinees, top performing and overall performance summary of schools, among other related announcements will be available at this website soon as PRC releases the full results online on November 20-21, 2017 or three (3) working days after the last day of board examination. The November 2017 Geologist Engineer licensure exams are administered by PRC Board of Geology headed by its Chairman, Rolando E. Peña and its members, Benjamin S. Austria and Elmer B. Billedo on November 14-16, 2017 at PRC testing center in Manila.

According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 2016-1019 series of 2016 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2017”, the target release date of November 2017 Geologist board exam result will be in three (3) working days after the last day of board examinations or by November 21, 2017 (Tuesday). However, results may also be released earlier or later without prior notice.

On the same exam conducted by PRC on November 2016 and November 2015, results were out after two (2) working days.


These important registration schedule and requirements shall be secured by a successful examinee.
  • The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be announced by the board.
  • Registration requirements: duly accomplished Oath Form, Notice of Admission (NOA), two (2) pieces of colored passport ID picture with white background and nametag and two (2) sets of doc stamps.
For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016, details of which are written here.


The November 2017 Geologist board exams covered the following topics:

First Day of Exam (November 14, 2017)
  • General Geology (Covering the Earth as a Planet, Structural Geology and the Plate Tectonics Theory, Earth Materials, Earth Processes and Landforms, and Stratigraphy, Historical Geology: The Earth, Philippines and Southeast Asia) 40%
Second Day of Exam (November 15, 2017)
  • Petrology and Mineralogy (Covering Chemistry, Crystallography, Physical and Optical Properties of Minerals, Common Rock Forming Minerals, Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic Rocks and Petrographic Techniques) 30%
Third Day of Exam (November 16, 2017)
  • Applied Geology (Covering Geologic Resources Applied Geology, Analytical Methods and Tools and Geology as a Profession) 30%

Geology is one of the programs with less number of examinees being administered by the Professional Regulation Commission.

On the most recent Geology board exam conducted on November 2016, 189 out of 395 examinees passed. Emmanuel Avila Codillo and Ruth Esther Gonzales Delina, both from University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman got the first two (2) spots garnering respective ratings of 87.50% and 86.50%. UP Diliman was the top performing school having 66 out of 75 examinees passed or an equivalent 88.00% overall passing rate.

On February 2016, 144 out of 267 examinees passed the exams. University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman ranked first in the top performing school having 63 out of 63 examinees passed or an equivalent 100.00% overall passing rate. The first three spots were clinched by graduates of University of the Philippines Diliman. Cris Reven Lustre got 82.60% rating, Dindo Karl Marie Asis Malonzo having 81.90% and Barbie Ross Baco Villaplaza garnering 81.80%.
