#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions September 13, 2016 (Tuesday)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on September 13, 2016 (Tuesday) are announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGU) due to bad weather conditions brought by Typhoon “Ferdie”.

As of 7:00 PM today, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.


Provinces

  • Batanes – All levels
  • Cagayan – Pre-school to Senior High School (Public and Private)

Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.

PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE

According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 AM, 13 September 2016,

At 4:00 am today, the eye of Typhoon “Ferdie” was located based on all available data at 510 km east of Calayan, Cagayan (19.4°N, 126.3°E) with maximum sustained winds of 215 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 250 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 22 kph.

Stormy weather will be experienced over Batanes, northern Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands. Rains with gusty winds is expected over Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Ilocos Norte and the rest of Cagayan. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms is expected over Northern Mindanao, Visayas and the rest of Luzon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Mindanao.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northwest to west will prevail over Central Luzon and the rest of Northern Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over the rest of Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the west with slight to moderate seas.
