#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions September 28, 2016 (Wednesday)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on September 28, 2016 (Wednesday) are announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGUs) due to effects of bad weather conditions brought by typhoon “Helen”.

As of 9:00 PM, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.


Metro Manila

  • Caloocan – All Levels (Public and Private)
  • Navotas – All Levels (Public and Private)
  • Malabon – All Levels (Public and Private)

Provinces

  • Antipolo City, Rizal – All Levels (Public and Private)
  • Cainta, Rizal- All Levels (Public and Private)
  • Rodriguez, Rizal – All Levels (Public and Private)
  • San Mateo, Rizal – All Levels (Public and Private)
  • Taytay, Rizal – All Levels (Public and Private)
  • San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan  – All Levels (Public and Private) 
  • Bocaue, Bulacan – All Levels (Public and Private)
  • Meycauayan, Bulacan – All Levels (Public and Private)
  • Marilao, Bulacan – All Levels (Public and Private)

Schools

  • De La Salle Araneta University – All Levels
  • University of the East, Manila and Caloocan – Kindergarten to Grade 11

Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.

PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE

According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 PM, 27 September 2016,

At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon “HELEN” was located based on all available data at 400 km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes (23.9ºN, 120.9ºE) with maximum sustained winds of up to 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 225 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 19 kph.

Rains with gusty winds is expected over the province of Batanes. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas and the provinces of Cagayan, Apayao and Benguet. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over Visayas and the rest of Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Winds will be light to moderate coming from the south over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.
