MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on October 21, 2016 (Friday) are announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGUs) due to effects of bad weather conditions brought by Typhoon “Lawin”.
As of 6:00 PM, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Friday, October 21, 2016.

- Apayao Province – All levels (Public and Private)
- Bugallon, Pangasinan – All levels (Public and Private)
- Baguio City – Preschool to Kindergarten (Public)
- Dagupan City – All levels (Public and Private)
- Ilagan City, Isabela – All levels (Public and Private)
- Ilocos Norte – All levels (Public and Private)
- Ilocos Sur – All levels (Public and Private)
- La Trinidad, Benguet – Preschool to Senior High School (Public and Private)
- Masantol, Pampanga – All levels (Public and Private)
- Mountain Province – All levels (Public and Private)
- Zambales Province- All levels (Public and Private)
Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.
PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE
According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 PM, 20 October 2016,
At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon “LAWIN” was located based on all available data at 240 km West Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (19.2ºN, 118.6ºE) with maximum sustained winds of up to 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 22 kph.
loudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Ilocos Region, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Metro Manila and the provinces of Occidental Mindoro and Palawan. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over Luzon and Western Visayas. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southeast to south with slight to moderate seas.
