#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions on November 16 & 17, 2017 due to ASEAN Summit

MANILA, Philippines – Metro Manila Council suspended classes at all levels (public and private) in Metro Manila on November 16, 2017 (Thursday) and November 17, 2017 (Friday) to give way to the ASEAN Summit.

The country will host the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and related meetings of leaders and top diplomats in Manila and Clark, Pampanga.

This will be held together with ASEAN dialogue partners Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, India, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, South Korean and the United States.

Meanwhile, Malacañang Palace has no official announcement yet if November 13, 14 and 15 will be declared non-working holidays in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

This is a developing story, stay tuned for official announcement from Malacañang.

During country’s hosting of the 30th ASEAN summit in April 2017, Malacañang declared suspension of government work and classes in Metro Manila.

TRUMP ATTENDING THE SUMMIT

Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that President Donald Trump will be joining the summit. As quoted,
