#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions on July 18, 2018 (Wednesday)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 are announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGUs) due to inclement weather conditions brought by southwest moonsoon or “Habagat” intensified by Tropical Storm “Henry”.


Here’s the live list of class/ work suspensions as declared by respective LGUs on July 18, 2018.

    Cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.

    PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE

    According to PAGASA weather update issued at 11:00 AM, 17 July 2018.

    “Henry” has intensified into a tropical storm and is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). 

    Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) #1 has been lifted over Babuyan Group of Islands and northern portion of Ilocos Norte. 

    The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring monsoon rains over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro Provinces, Palawan and Western Visayas, and scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the rest of the country. Residents of these areas, especially those living in low-lying and mountainous areas, are advised to continue monitoring for updates, coordinate with their local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and take appropriate actions against possible flooding and landslides. 

    Sea travel remains risky over the western seaboard of Southern Luzon. 

    Meanwhile, at 10:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 915 km East of Aparri, Cagayan (18.0°N, 130.3°E). This weather disturbance may develop into a Tropical Depression in the next 36 hours.
