December 26, 2019 and January 2, 2020 Holidays?

Are December 26, 2019 and January 2, 2020 declared as national holidays?

As of this writing, Malacañang Palace is not releasing any Memorandum Circular declaring the above dates as non-working days/ holidays. So it’s a NO.

2018 HOLIDAYS FOR DEC 26 AND JAN 1

In the year 2018, Malacañang declared through a memorandum circular no. 55 signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medealdea that December 26, 2018 and January 2, 2019 were national holidays. Likewise, work in government offices nationwide was suspended.

To quote from the memorandum,

Further to proclamation Nos. 269 s. 2017 and 555 s. 2018 issued by the President declaring December 25, 2018 (Christmas Day) and January 1, 2019 (New Year’s Day) as regular holidays, respectively, and Memorandum Circular No. 54 s. 2018 suspending work in government offices on January 2, 2019, and in order to give the employees of the government full opportunity to celebrate the holidays with their families and loved ones, work in government offices throughout the country, including government-owned or controlled corporations, government financial institutions, state universities and colleges, local government units, and other agencies and instrumentalities, is also suspended on December 26, 2018.

Meanwhile, those in the line of basic health and services, preparedness and response to disasters and calamities and performance of vital services were not included.

If you are an employer then try giving your employees just compensation instead of severely underpaying them and expecting them to perform to the best of their abilities. You call Filipinos lazy yet what they earn isn't even enough to satisfy their family's needs what else would you expect high motivations and dedication to their jobs I don't think so.

Mag tagalog na lang kayo mga hampaslupa! Puro naman kayo wrong grammar. Ang aarte niyo! The truth is marami talagang Holiday ang pilipinas. Kahit sinong foreigner na magsabi, masyado talagang maraming Holidays dito. Tapos complain pa kayo ng complain na hindi ginagawang Holiday ang Dec 26 at Jan 2! Mga tamad lang talaga ang mga pilipino. Truth hurts!
