ONLINE APPLICATION: August 2020 MedTech Board Exam Schedule

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the schedule of online application, deadline of filing, as well as requirements for application in August 2020 Medical Technology (MedTech) Licensure Examination.

The board exams for aspiring MedTechs will be held on August 2020 at designated testing locations in Manila/NCR, Zamboanga, and all regional offices nationwide.

Update May 8, 2020: PRC announced the new/re-scheduled dates of all postponed/cancelled board exams from March to June 2020 due to Enhanced Community Quanrantine brought by COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, those applicants who already have filed their application for examination and issued the Notice of Admission (NOA) will no longer be required to file a new application.

MEDTECH BOARD EXAM ONLINE APPLICATION 2020

The 2020 MedTech board exam applicants are likewise advised to apply online via https://online1.prc.gov.ph/ or https://online.prc.gov.ph/ before going to the venue. Applicants are also encouraged to pay through UCPB (over-the-counter), Land Bank (i-access), or PayMaya.

LIST OF REQUIREMENTS

PRC also reminds MedTech board exam applicants to secure all requirements before proceeding to PRC centers for further processing of applications and also avoid further inconvenience.

  • NSO / PSA Birth Certificate
  • NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
  • Transcript of Records (TOR) with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” (first timers and repeaters)
  • After three (3) unsuccessful examinations, the applicant is required to submit a Certificate of Completion of a REFRESHER Course from a school of medical technology recognized or or accredited by CHED- FTB
    • Payment of 900 pesos

    The August 2020 MedTech licensure exams covered the following topics:

    • Clinical Chemistry, 
    • Microbiology and Parasitology, 
    • Clinical Microscopy, 
    • Hematology, 
    • Blood Banking and Serology and Hispathologic Techniques, 
    • Cytotechnology, Medical Technology Laws, Related Laws and its Implementing Rules and Code of Ethics
    PREVIOUS MEDTECH BOARD EXAMS

    In the most recent Medical Technologist board exams held on September 2019, 4,743 out of 6,453 (73.50%) examinees passed.  Reiven John Borbon Bernales from University of San Agustin clinched the top spot garnering a rating of 90.50% followed by Marichu Panceras Lomotos from Silliman University having 90.40%. Cebu Doctors University was the top performing school having 100% passing rate followed by Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas having 98.94%.

    During March 2019 MedTech licensure exam, 2,801 out of 4,092 (68.45%) examinees passed. John Steward Buenavista Alberto from Cagayan State University – Andrews Campus and Zairah de Leon Monjardin from Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation shared the spot, both having 91.10% rating. In the top performing schools list, Cagayan State University – Andrews Campus and Adventist University of the Philippine ranked first having all of their examinees passed or 100% overall passing rate.

    On September 2018, 4,718 out of 6,070 (77.73%) examinees passed. Lorenz Masajo Barro from University of Santo Tomas (UST) ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 92.10% followed by Rolter Lorenz Mispeñas Lee also from UST having 91.80% and Eldy Villanoy Barrientos from University of Agustin having 91.70%. In the top performing schools, four (4) schools shared the top spot having 100% passing rate namely; Velez College, University of San Agustin, Trinity University of Asia and Saint Louis University.

    During March 2018 exams, 2,648 out of 3,644 (72.67%) examinees passed. Alvin Aurelia Bahin from Remedios T. Romualdez Medical Foundation ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 90.50% followed by Amabelle Son Marquez from Southwestern University having 90.40%. In the top performing schools list, Adventist University of the Philippines and Cagayan State University – Andrews Campus shared the top spot having all of their examinees passed or 100% overall passing rate followed by Saint Louis University having 99.34%.

    During August 2017 MedTech exams, 4,821 out of 5,661 examinees successfully passed. Marianne Ross Bacia Soldevilla from Notre Dame of Marbel University ranked first in the exams garnering 90.90% rating followed by Glenn Charls Lagumbay Buelis from University of the Immaculate Conception – Davao having 90.80% and Renrenz Tiangco Payumo from Far Easter University – Manila having 90.70%. Four schools shared the top spot having all of its examinees passed or 100% overall passing rate. These are; University of San Agustin, Cebu Doctors University, Holy Name University and Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod City.
