ONLINE APPLICATION: December 2020 Pharmacist Board Exam Schedule

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the schedule of online application/ registration, as well as requirements for application in December 2020 Pharmacist board exams.

The licensure exams for Pharmacist will be held on December 13 & 14, 2020 at designated testing locations in NCR/ Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

Update May 8, 2020: PRC announced the new/re-scheduled dates of all postponed/cancelled board exams from March to June 2020 due to Enhanced Community Quanrantine brought by COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, those applicants who already have filed their application for examination and issued the Notice of Admission (NOA) will no longer be required to file a new application.

COVID-19/ CORONAVIRUS – ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 922 dated March 8, 2020 declaring a state of public health emergency throughout the country,  and  the recommendations of the Department of Health (DOH) and Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease to prohibit mass gatherings, PRC has cancelled board exams scheduled on March and April 2020.

Pharmacist is one of the cancelled licensure exams due to Coronavirus pandemic.

Likewise, for appointments set from March 17, 2020 to April 12, 2020, they will be accommodated upon resumption on April 13, 2020.

ONLINE APPLICATION 2020

Applicants are likewise advised to apply online via https://online1.prc.gov.ph/ or https://online.prc.gov.ph/ before going to the venue. Applicants are also encouraged to pay through UCPB (over-the-counter), Land Bank (i-access), or PayMaya.

LIST OF REQUIREMENTS

PRC also reminds applicants to secure all requirements before proceeding to PRC centers for further processing of applications and also avoid further inconvenience.

  • NSO / PSA Birth Certificate
  • NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
  • Transcript of Records with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” (first timers and repeaters)
  • *Certificate of Internship program duly signed by the dean/program head
  • Good Moral Character Certificate from any of the following:
    • Barangay
    • School of Pharmacy
    • Church
    • Employer
  • Valid NBI Clearance (First Timers & Repeaters)
  • Payment of P900.00 – complete
  • *Daily Time Record (DTR)
  • *After three(3) failures, REFRESHER Course

COVERAGE OF PHARMACY BOARD EXAMS

The April 2020 and December 2020 Pharmacist board exam covered the following topics:

  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry (20%) which includes Inorganic Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry and Qualitative Pharmaceutical Chemistry;
  • Pharmacognosy (15%) which includes Plant Chemistry and Biochemistry;
  • Practice of Pharmacy (17.5%) which includes Compounding-Dispensing, Clinical/Hospital Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Calculations;
  • Pharmacology-Pharmacokinetics (15%) which includes Toxicology, Incompatibilities and Adverse Drug Reactions;
  • Pharmaceutics (17.5%) which includes Manufacturing Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms, Physical Pharmacy and Jurisprudence and Ethics;
  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control (15%) which include Drug Testing with Instrumentation and Microbiology and Public Health

PREVIOUS EXAMS

In the most recent exams held on August 2019, 3,097 out of 4,455 (69.52%) passed. Janelle Samantha Que See from University of the Philippines – Manila ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 92.58% followed by Van Angelo Ong Sy from Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela having 91.37%. St. Louis University was the top performing school garnering an overall passing rate of 98.80% followed by University of San Carlos having 98.04%.

During March 2019 exams,  2,100 out of 3,234 (64.94%) examinees passed. Julienne Nicole Chua Dela Cruz from University of the Philippines – Manila ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 92.70% followed by Khlarica Rygine Aquino Furigay from Trinity University of Asia having 92.00%. University of the Philippines – Manila ranked first in the list of top performing pharmacy schools having all of its examinees passed or 100.00% passing rate followed by Saint Louis University having 97.22%.

On August 2018 Pharmacist licensure exams, 2,927 out of 4,230 (69.20%) examinees passed. Louise Tan Theunis from Cebu Doctors; University ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 91.55% followed by Euriel Jasmin Pakinggan Caparas from Centro Escolar University – Manila having 91.40% and Patrick Joshua Torres Galura from University of Santo Tomas (UST) having 91.35%. In the top performing Pharmacy schools, Saint Louis University ranked first having 98.69% and University of San Carlos having 96.72%.

During March 2018, 1,695 out of 3,039 (55.77%) examinees passed. Ryan Joseph Caballes Tuzon from University of the Philippines (UP) – Manila ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 92.95% followed by Ma Ysabel Lyra Padilla Brual also from UP Manila having 92.72%. UP Manila was the top performing school having all of its 77 examinees passed or 100% overall passing rate followed by Mariano Marcos State University – Batac having 96.49%.

On August 2017 , 2,784 out of 5,079 (54.81%) examinees successfully passed. Jannylene Rose Tolentino Chua from University of San Carlos ranked first in the exams garnering 91.10% rating followed by Kimberly Tan Lomantas from University of the Immaculate Conception – Davao having 91.05%. Saint Luis University ranked first in the top performing schools’ list having 97.27% overall passing rate followed by UST garnering 92.50%.

During March 2017 exams, 2,426 out of 3,732 (65.01%) examinees passed. Rhys Jansen Tiu Pavon and Ser Loisse Rodriguez Mortel, both from UST got the first two spots having 94.73% and 93.70% respective ratings. University of the Philippines – Manila ranked first in the top performing schools’ list having all of its 54 examinees passed or 100% overall passing rate.

    Hi po, will this December 2020 cater only those who wasnt able to take the april 2020 exams or everyone can take?

    In regards of the venue, the Iloilo takers will decide if they want to take the exam in Manila or Cebu? since Iloilo wasn't mention. thank you
