ONLINE APPLICATION: October 2020 Chemical Engineering ChemEng Board Exam Schedule

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the schedule of online application, as well as requirements for application in October 2020 Chemical Engineering board exams.

The licensure exams for Chemical Engineers will be held on October 1, 2 and 4, 2020 at designated testing locations in NCR/ Manila and Cebu.

Update May 8, 2020: PRC announced the new/re-scheduled dates of all postponed/cancelled board exams from March to June 2020 due to Enhanced Community Quanrantine brought by COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, those applicants who already have filed their application for examination and issued the Notice of Admission (NOA) will no longer be required to file a new application.

COVID-19/ CORONAVIRUS – ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 922 dated March 8, 2020 declaring a state of public health emergency throughout the country,  and  the recommendations of the Department of Health (DOH) and Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease to prohibit mass gatherings, PRC has cancelled board exams scheduled on March and April 2020.

Chemical Engineering is one of the cancelled licensure exams due to Coronavirus pandemic.

Likewise, for appointments set from March 17, 2020 to April 12, 2020, they will be accommodated upon resumption on April 13, 2020.

ONLINE APPLICATION 2020

Applicants are likewise advised to apply online via https://online1.prc.gov.ph/ or https://online.prc.gov.ph/ before going to the venue. Applicants are also encouraged to pay through UCPB (over-the-counter), Land Bank (i-access), or PayMaya.

LIST OF REQUIREMENTS

PRC also reminds applicants to secure all requirements before proceeding to PRC centers for further processing of applications and also avoid further inconvenience.

  • NSO / PSA Birth Certificate
  • NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
  • Transcript of Records with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” (first timers and repeaters)
  • Valid NBI Clearance (First Timers & Repeaters)
  • Payment of P900.00 – complete

COVERAGE OF CHEMENG BOARD EXAMS

The October 2020 Chemical Engineering board exam covered the following topics:

  • Physical and Chemical Principles (general inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemical engineering and environmental engineering)
  • Chemical Engineering Principles (chemical engineering calculations, chemical engineering thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, unit operations, chemical process industries, plant design and instrumentation and process control)
  • General Engineering, Ethics and Contracts (mathematics, physics, engineering mechanics, strength of materials, engineering economics, and laws, contracts and ethics)

PREVIOUS EXAMS

In the most recent ChemEng board exams held on November 2019, 899 out of 1,259 (71.41%) examinees passed. Martin Zechariah Magat Valencia from De La Salle University (DLSU) Manila clinched the top spot having 86.10% followed by Maru Feriel Olivan Del Carmen from University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman having 85.80% and Chester Jules Antonio Tantoco from UP Los Baños having 84.70%.

On May 2019 exams, 313 out of 616 (50.81%) examinees passed. John Paolo Lucin Lazarte from DLSU Manila clinched the top spot having 84.10% rating followed by Kem Monterico Taghap from UP Los Baños garnering 83.60%. DLSU Manila was the top performing school having 91.30% overall passing rate.

During November 2018 ChemEng board exams, 737 out of 1,043 (70.66%) examinees passed. Peter Nicholas Saquido Onglao from UP Diliman ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 84.40% followed by Marcel Roy Barlis Domalanta from Saint Louis University having 84.30%. UP Diliman topped in the list of top performing schools garnering 96.10% overall rating followed by UP Los Baños having 92.06%.

On May 2018 exams, 1,114 out of 2,093 (53.23%) examinees passed. Peter Matthew Paul Toribio Fowler from Mapua Institute of Technology – Manila ranked first in the exams garnering 83.00% rating followed by Jan Patrick Gankee Si from De La Salle University in Manila having 82.40%. DLSU Manila was the lone school in the top performing schools list having an overall passing rate of 96.55%.

During November 2017 exams, 627 out of 942 (66.56%) examinees passed. John Cyril Pastrana Claur from University of Saint La Salle and Jared Philip Marquez Condez from UP Visayas – Iloilo City topped the exams having 84.60% rating. UP Diliman ranked first in the exams 98.77% overall passing rate followed by UP Los Baños having 86.89%.

On May 2017, 310 out of 561 (55.26%) examinees passed. Wayne Lorenz Bagano Tandingan from University of San Carlos ranked first in the exams garnering 85.20% rating followed by Victor Juvida Lau Jr. from Mapua Institute of Technology – Manila having 85.00%. DLSU – Manila was the top performing school having 94.12% overall passing rate followed by UP Los Baños garnering 88.89%.

    hello po sana makasama kami sa board exam itong november kung matuloy, bali nakapag file kami pero may kulang sa requirements namin kasi naman yong school namin dipa kami nabigyan kasi po temporary closed dahil sa covid, sana po hindi hadlang ang para makasali kami sa darating na EXAMS ng CE. mabuhay PRC
