PLE NOVEMBER 2020: Physician Board Licensure Exam Results, List of Passers

RESULTS ARE OUT! – The November 2020 PLE results or the Physician board licensure exams list of passers, top 10 examinees, top performing schools, performance summary of colleges and universities, among other important reminders are expected released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Medicine in seven (7) working days after the exams.

As announced, 3,538 out of 4,704 examinees passed. The results of examination with respect to two (2) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations and ninety-six (96) examinees were withheld pending completion of the remaining subjects in the Physician Licensure Examination.

The November 2020 board exams for professional medical doctors were conducted by the Board of Medicine headed by its Chairman, Dr. Clarita C. Maaño and its members, Dr. Eleanor B. Almoro, Dr. Godofreda V. Dalmacion, Dr. Zenaida L. Antonio, Dr. Rafael R. Castillo and Dr. Raquel S. Sayo.

PRC Board of Medicine administered the first part of PLE on November 10 and 11, 2020 while the second part on November 15 and 16, 2020 in the cities of Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga following a strict health and safety protocols set by the commission.

PLE was the only board exam to push through since the COVID-19 pandemic due to the immediate need of the Philippine government of new medical doctors. All other board exams were moved to 2021.

REGISTRATION

The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration for the new Physicians will start on November 5, 2020.

Initial registrants are advised to register online via PRC official website and follow the steps in online registration.

Here are the registration requirements:

  • Notice of Admission/NOA (for identification purposes only)
  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Two (2) pieces of passport-sized ID photos in white background and with complete name tag
  • Two (2) sets of documentary stamp
  • One (1) piece short brown envelope

PRC added that successful examinees shall personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

RELEASE OF PLE NOVEMBER 2020 RESULTS

Due to the pandemic, it is expected that the PLE November 2020 will be released longer than usual. We advise all examinees to tune in from November 19-27, 2020. PRC will also announce the exact date of release few days the target release.

ONLINE OATH-TAKING

Due to pandemic, the oathtaking ceremony of the new Physicians will be done online, now referred as the e-oath, unless changed and announced officially. The application system for the e-oath can also be accessed online via PRC dedicated portal.

  • Microbiology and Parasitology;
  • Physiology;

  • Surgery and Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology and Rhinology;
  • Medicine;
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology;
  • Pediatrics and Nutrition;
  • Preventive Medicine and Public Health

PREVIOUS EXAMS

Physician board exam is one of the programs with average number of examinees conducted by PRC.

On the latest conduct of PLE exams on March 2020 and September 2020, 800 out of 1,424 (56.18%) examinees passed.

Maria Carla Edejer Buenaflor from University of the Philippines - Manila ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 89.17% followed by John Marlon Bunag Lintan from University of Santo Tomas having 88.00%.

Far Eastern University - Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation was the top performing school having 91.60% overall passing rate.

During the September 2019 PLE, 4,006 out of 4,716 (84.94%) examinees passed.

Federico Adriano Peralta IV from University of Santo Tomas clinched the top spot garnering 90.92% rating followed by Ray Zanoria Perez II from Cebu Institute of Medicine from Cebu Institute of Medicine having 90.33%.

In the list of top performing schools, three (3) universities shared the top spot for having 100% passing rate, namely Ateneo de Manila University School of Medicine and Public Health Pasig, Cebu Institute of Medicine and Pamantansan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

During March 2019 Physician board exam, 1,209 out of 1,579 (76.57%) examinees successfully passed.

Jan Bendric Co Borbe from University of Santo Tomas and Clinton Rosita Rabadon from West Visayas State University - La Paz shared the top spot having 89.83% rating.

Far Eastern University (FEU) - Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation was the top performing school having 144 out of 147 examinees passed or an overall passing rate of 97.96%.

In the Physician board exams held on September 2018, 3,717 out of 4,542 (81.84%) examinees passed.

Kurl Eduvas Jamora from De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 91.08% followed by Martin Angelo Tan Zanoria from Cebu Institute of Medicine having 90.92% and Roy Christopher Ku Ang from Saint Louis University and Ernest Matthew Provido Paggabao from University of Santo Tomas (UST) having 90.58%.

In the top performing medical schools, Cebu Institute of Medicine topped the list having 99.33% followed by UST having 98.71%.

On March 2018 PLE, 1,067 out of 1,601 (66.65%) examinees passed. Jerald Lalaguna Pelayo from University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 88.17% followed by Jay Ruyeras Orehuela from Southwestern University - Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine having 88.00%.

Far Eastern University - Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation was the lone school in the top performing schools' list having 150 out of 168 examinees passed or 89.29% overall passing rate.

During September 2017 exams, 3,340 out of 4,064 (82.19%) examinees passed.

Vincent Edouard Anthony Retardo Gullas from University of Santo Tomas (UST) ranked first in the exams garnering 90.50% rating followed by Jan David Choa Monzon and Robert Carandang Reña, both from De La Salle University - Health Sciences Institute having 90.08%. Cebu Institute of Medicine and Saint Luke's College of Medicine shared the top spot in the list of top performing schools having 100% overall passing rate.
