ONLINE APPLICATION: October 2020 Electronics Engineering ECE Board Exams Schedule

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the schedule of online application, deadline of filing, as well as requirements for application in October 2020 Electronics Engineering (ECE) Licensure exams.

The board exams for aspiring electronics engineers will be held on October 2020 at designated testing locations in NCR/ Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Legaspi, Lucena and Tacloban.

Update May 8, 2020: PRC announced the new/re-scheduled dates of all postponed/cancelled board exams from March to June 2020 due to Enhanced Community Quanrantine brought by COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, those applicants who already have filed their application for examination and issued the Notice of Admission (NOA) will no longer be required to file a new application.

COVID-19/ CORONAVIRUS – ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 922 dated March 8, 2020 declaring a state of public health emergency throughout the country,  and  the recommendations of the Department of Health (DOH) and Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease to prohibit mass gatherings, PRC has cancelled board exams scheduled on March and April 2020.

ECE is one of the cancelled licensure exams due to Coronavirus pandemic.

Likewise, for appointments set from March 17, 2020 to April 12, 2020, they will be accommodated upon resumption on April 13, 2020.

ECE BOARD EXAM ONLINE APPLICATION 2020

The 2020 ECE board exam applicants are likewise advised to apply online via https://online1.prc.gov.ph/ or https://online.prc.gov.ph/ before going to the venue. Applicants are also encouraged to pay through UCPB (over-the-counter), Land Bank (i-access), or PayMaya.

LIST OF REQUIREMENTS

PRC also reminds applicants to secure all requirements before proceeding to PRC centers for further processing of applications and also avoid further inconvenience.

  • NSO / PSA Birth Certificate
  • NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
  • Transcript of Records (TOR) with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” (first timers and repeaters)
    • Payment of 900 pesos – complete
    • Payment of 400 pesos for conditioned or removal
    • *One removal exam only, period not specified

    COVERAGE OF ECE BOARD EXAMS

    The October 2020 Electronics Engineering licensure exams covered the following topics:

    • Mathematics;
    • Electronics Engineering;
    • General Engineering and Applied Sciences;
    • Electronics Systems and Technologies

    USE OF CALCULATOR

    The board emphasized that the use of brands CASIO FX-991ES and CASIO FX-991ES are strictly prohibited, pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 2018-01;.

    Allowed calculators are limited to functions/features including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, trigonometric function, logarithm and exponential functions, whole number or fractional power y of x and polar to rectangular to polar conversions. Likewise, only one (1) calculator per examinee is allowed in examination room and will be thoroughly inspected by proctors for maximum compliance.

    PREVIOUS ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING BOARD EXAMS

    In the most recent ECE board exams held on October 2019, 2,460 out of 4,977 (49.43%) examinees passed. Neil Kenneth Tamina Mendoza from University of Santo Tomas ranked first in the exams having 92.00% followed by Hannah Joy Dumaoal Fadullon from Colegio de Dagupan garnering 91.80%. University of the Philippines Diliman was the top performing school having 97.30% overall passing rate followed by Holy Angel University having 80.00%

    On April 2019 ECE, 1,365 out of 2,790 (48.92%) examinees passed. Malcom Leeland Paraz Kwok from De La Salle University (DLSU) – Manila ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 90.70% followed by Ecclesiastes Guma Montaos Jr from Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology and Jethro Lee Pascual Ocean from DLSU Manila having 89.40%. University of the Philippines Diliman and University of Batangas were the first two universities in the top performing schools having 100.00% and 87.50% respective ratings.

    During October 2018, 2,326 out of 4,700 (49.49%) examinees passed. Daniel Dilag Cabrales from Technological University of the Philippines – Manila named first in the exams garnering a rating of 92.00% followed by Justine Allen Cayanan Arciga from Holy Angel University having 90.30%.  In the top performing schools, University of the Philippines – Diliman was the lone school in the list having 49 out of 50 examinees passed or 98.00% passing rate.

    On April 2018, 1,208 out of 2,663 (45.36%) examinees passed. Mark Eullysis Dando Alzaga from FEU-Institute of Technology ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 93.30% followed by Angelo Marion Poblete Conwi from Technological Institute of the Philippines Manila garnering 91.40%. UP Diliman was the top performing school having 100% passing rate while Mapua Institute of Technology Manila was the top performing school in ECT garnering 100% followed by Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology having 89.47% rating and Cagayan State University- Tuguegarao having 80.95%.

    During October 2017 ECE, 2,235 out of 4,784 (46.72%) examinees passed. Dino Dominic Forte Ligutan from De La Salle University – Manila topped the board exam garnering 94.40% rating followed by Williard Joshua Decena Jose from University of the Philippines – Diliman  having 93.40%. UP Diliman got the first spot in the top performing schools’ list having 98.33% passing rate followed by DLSU Manila having 88.75% and University of Santo Tomas (UST) having 81.51%.

    On April 2017 ECE, 1,033 out of 2,503 (41.27%) examinees passed. Aaron Maca-Ayong Polancos from Mapua Institute of Technology – Manila clinched the top spot garnering 88.80% followed by Francis Amarille Bautista from Mapua Institute of Technology Manila and Gerald Ely Ucab Faelden from DLSU – Manila, both having 88.30%. Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology was the top performing school having 88.89% folloewd by Adamson University having 90.00%.

    On ECE board exam October 2016, 1,914 out of 4,742 (40.36%) passed. Masaru Quemquem Nakaegawa from UST ranked first in ECE exams garnering 92.30% rating while Meryl Andal Aldover from DLSU Lipa, Ronnel Padiernos Dayawon from University of the East Caloocan, Marlon Tagolino Moscare from Polytechnic University of the Philippines Taguig and Moises Dela Cruz Ramos from Saint Louis University shared the second spot, all having 89.30%. UP Diliman was the lone school in the top performing schools list having all of its examinees passed or 100.00% passing rate.
