MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on Monday, July 23, 2018 are announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGUs) due to inclement weather conditions brought by Southwest Monsoon or “Habagat” intensified by Tropical Depression “Josie” resulting to flooding and landslides.
As per latest PAGASA weather report, the areas of Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, rest of Cagayan Valley, Western Visayas, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Mindoro Provinces, and Northern Palawan including Calamian Group of Islands will experience scattered to widespread monsoon rains.

PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE
According to PAGASA weather update issued at 11:00 AM, 22 July 2018.
Tropical Depression “Josie” is now over the Bashi Channel.
Occasional rains with gusty winds are still expected in areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) #1.
Residents of these areas, especially those living near river channels, in low-lying areas and in mountainous areas are advised to take appropriate actions against possible flooding and landslide, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices and continue monitoring for updates.
Sea travel remains risky over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon and the western seaboard of Central Luzon, especially in areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal #1.
Tropical Cycle Signal No. 1 is raised over Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands.
