MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has cancelled the schedule of August 2021 Mechanical Engineering and Certified Plant Mechanic licensure exams in Manila/ National Capital Region (NCR), Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro (CDO) due to recently imposed Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and pursuant to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) Resolution No. 130-A (s. 2021) and PRC Resolution No. 1392 (s. 2021).
Meanwhile, the conduct of Mechanical Engineering board exam at other testing locations including Baguio, Koronadal City, Lucena, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga will proceed as scheduled.
PRC has recently postponed the licensure exams for August 2021 in the National Capital Region (NCR) including those of Mining Engineering and Veterinary Medicine.

PRC likewise said that those affected examinees may take the next succeeding examination without forfeiture of examination fees.
Several board exams scheduled on first quarter of 2021 were cancelled and re-scheduled to third and fourth quarter (see below) due to COVID-19 pandemic. However, there were also licensure exams that pushed through following a strict health and safety protocols imposed by the commission. Among are the board exams for Medical Technologists/ MTLE, Social Workers, Veterinarians and Physicians/ PLE.

Consideration nalang po sana sa ibang examinee di naman po pareparehas ng sitwasyon. Hoping for a positive response. PRC, please be considerate naman sa time and effort na na spent ng students to prepare for this exam. If u want to cancel, just post something about it already kasi pati mental health ng students affected na sa sobrang anxious kakahintay kung tuloy pa ba ang exam. Thanks

I am one of the parents of the cancelled Aug 15-16,2021 Mechanical Engineering board exam examinee/taker.
I would like to be clarified as to when is the new schedule of the exams in NCR this year, to give me peace of mind.
My child has been in Manila since July 29,2021. Together with his other classmates, they are waiting for the new schedule this year. Please inform them ( the examinees/takers) now if there will be schedule this year or none, or maybe schedule the exams for 2022.
As parents, with the rising cases of Covid 19 in Manila, I am worried of his situation there.
