MANILA, Philippines – The October 2019 Naval Architect board exam results including the list of passers, top 10 examinees, top performing schools and performance of schools are available at this website as PRC officially releases the results online two (2) working days after the board examinations.
As announced, 89 out of 156 successfully passed the exams.
The October 2019 Naval Architect board exams were administered by PRC Board of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering headed by the Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Engr. William B. Hernandez and its member, Engr. Edward B. Cruz on October 1, 2 & 3, 2019.
The October 2019 Board Licensure Exam for Naval Architects were conducted at testing centers located in Manila.

The performance of schools for October 2019 Naval Architect and Marine Engineering licensure exams in alphabetical order as per R.A. 8981 otherwise known as PRC Modernization Act of 2000 Section 7 (m) or “to monitor the performance of schools in licensure examinations and publish results thereof in a newspaper of national circulation”
RELEASE OF RESULTS
According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 1127 s. 2018 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2019”, the target release date of Naval Architect result October 2019 will be on October 7, 2019 or two (2) working days after the board exams. However, this may also be out earlier or later than the target date without prior notice.
On October 2018, October 2016 and October 2015 exams, results were out after two (2) working days while during October 2017, results were published after three (3) working days.
REGISTRATION
The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be from November 15, 2019.
PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for all passers effective March 30, 2016. Initial registrants are advised to register online via http://online.prc.gov.ph/, an online application and registration portal of PRC.
Here are the registration requirements:
- Notice of Admission (NOA) – for identification purposes
- Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
- Passport-sized ID Photos in white background and with complete name tag (2 pieces)
- Documentary Stamps (2 sets)
- Short Brown Envelope (1 piece)
PRC added that successful examinees shall personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
COVERAGE OF EXAMS
The October 2019 Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering licensure exams covered topics from Mathematics, Hydraulics, Strength of Materials, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and General Engineering; Principles of Marine Engineering including Resistance, Powering, Machinery, Power Plants, Application of Modern Electrical Units, Equipment, Propeller and Shafting; Principles of Naval Architecture including Stability, Flooding and Subdivision, Speed Selection, Weight Estimates, Economics of Operation; Philippine Merchant Marine Regulation and Code of Ethics; and Ship Design, Building and Classing Steel and Wooden Vessels, Construction Methods and Practice.
PREVIOUS EXAMS
Naval Architecture is one of the the programs with less number of examinees being administered by the Professional Regulation Commission.
In the most recent board exam conducted on October 2018, 52 out of 129 examinees passed. Eight (8) topnotchers came from University of Cebu including the 1st spot, Joseph Vincent Yntig Satura garnering 92.20% and 2nd spot, Joyce Kimberly Alano Alejandro and Ross Norman Sanson Bacus having 88.60%.
In October 2017 exams, 51 out of 117 examinees passed. All ten (10) spot came from University of Cebu. Jayvie Orbeso Albarando got the top spot having 89.80% rating followed by Randolph Diez Tabernero garnering 89.60%.
On October 2016, 38 out of 99 examinees passed. Juan Julian Rindole Balingbing from NAMEI Polytechnic Institute ranked first in the exams having 88.60% rating followed by Jerick Ivan Hondos Carpeso also from the NAMEI Polytechnic Institute garnering 87.60%.
VERIFICATION OF RATING
Successful PRC Naval Architect and Marine Engineer passers of October 2019 can refer to the official website and use the LERIS Verification Page to know their board examination rating. This usually comes few days after the posting of results. As posted, a passer shall only provide the exam name, the date of examination, the application number, first name, last name and the birth-date.
The date and venue of the oath-taking ceremonies come few weeks after the release of board exam.
