OCSERGS / Verification of Rating

All examinees (both passed and failed) can access their ratings through the Online Civil Service Exam Result Generation System (OCSERGS).

  • OCSERGS Availability: May 18, 2026

No individual rating reports will be mailed to examinees. All examinees are required to accurately input their personal information and examination details in the system to successfully access and generate their results.

Certification of Eligibility (COE)

All passers are required to request their Certificate of Eligibility (COE) printed on the official letterhead of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) within a few weeks after the release of results, which is issued free of charge by the CSC Regional or Field Office where the examination was taken; as an update, passers or eligibles may request their COE on official CSC letterhead starting June 11, 2026.

Passers are advised to verify the availability of their COE before visiting the office to avoid inconvenience. When claiming, examinees must bring a valid ID—preferably the same identification used during application—along with their application receipt or official CSC receipt.

Additionally, passers may opt to request a COE printed on security paper for an applicable fee, which can be processed and obtained from any of the 16 CSC Regional Offices nationwide, regardless of where the examination was taken.

Passing the Civil Service Exam

To pass the Civil Service Examination, examinees must obtain a minimum general rating of 80.00%.

Civil Service Eligibility Explained

In the Philippine government, civil service eligibility is essential for individuals seeking employment or promotions in public service. The Civil Service Commission classifies eligibility into two main types: Professional Eligibility and Subprofessional Eligibility, each corresponding to different levels of government positions.

Professional Eligibility is required for second-level or technical positions, which typically involve supervisory or specialized roles and usually require at least a bachelor’s degree. This type of eligibility demonstrates a higher level of competency and qualification for more complex responsibilities within government agencies.

On the other hand, Subprofessional Eligibility applies to first-level or clerical positions, which generally involve administrative and support functions. These roles typically require less than four years of college education and focus on routine office tasks and basic government services.

It is important to note that holders of professional eligibility may also qualify for clerical positions. However, both professional and subprofessional eligibilities cannot be used for positions that involve the practice of regulated professions, as these are governed by special laws and require separate licensure.

Conduct of CSE-PPT

The Civil Service Commission conducts the Career Service Examination – Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) twice a year at both professional and subprofessional levels to accommodate the growing number of applicants.
