MANILA—The list of topnotchers in the September 2024 Bar Exams is available here. The Philippines’ Supreme Court (SC) releases the results on December 13, 2024.
The 2024 bar examinations were held on September 8, 11, and 15, 2024, and are headed by the Supreme Court Associate Justice Mario V. Lopez, Chairperson of the 2024 Bar Examinations Committee.

December 13, 2024, 1:30 P.M.: Bar Exam Results 2024 are out!
December 13, 2024, 10:52 A.M.: Same with previous years’ releases of Bar Exam results, this year’s results will also display the rating/percentage of the topnotchers.
December 13, 2024, 10:08 A.M.: The YouTube livestream link for the 2024 Bar Exam results and list of passers is now available. The livestream will start at 12:00 noon today.
December 13, 2024, 10:00 A.M.: The SC’s courtyard is ready for the results of the 2024 Bar Exams.
December 9, 2024: SC said that under the Data Privacy Act, the scores of the bar exam takers should not be disclosed without the prior consent of the examinees. To quote,
The Supreme Court (SC) held that the Bar examination scores of individual Bar takers are sensitive personal information under the Data Privacy Act. Thus, they cannot be disclosed without the prior consent of the examinees.
Under the Guidelines, the SC may approve requests from law schools for Bar exam scores, as long as these scores are aggregated, averaged, or anonymized and do not identify any individual Bar exam taker. Requests from law schools must be signed by the dean or an equivalent official, and must state a legitimate purpose, such as reviewing and improving law degree programs and performance on future Bar exams.
November 27, 2024: In an official notice issued on November 27, SC said that the results will be released on December 13, 2024. To quote,
The results of the 2024 Bar Examinations will be released on December 13, 2024 at the Courtyard of the Supreme Court Main Building, Padre Faura Street, Ermita, Manila (SC Courtyard). The results will be displayed on the LED Walls inside the SC Courtyard and uploaded to the Supreme Court’s official website and social media pages.
September 18, 2024: As per the Bar 2024 Chairperson, the 2024 Bar Exam results are intended to be released in December 2024, while the oath-taking is scheduled on January 24, 2025.
Tentatively, we are intending to release it in December, but the oath-taking is already scheduled on January 24, 2025.
Release of Results
In the most recent announcement, SC disclosed that the results will be released on Friday, December 13, 2024
Before officially posting results, SC is conducting a special en banc session to decode the bar exam results. This involves opening the sealed envelopes with the names of passers.
The list of passers will also be posted on the SC’s official website and flashed via widescreen at the Supreme Court’s front yard. You may also refer to this article, as we will post the names of successful examinees.
Testing Venues
The simultaneous digital and regionalized bar exams were administered at thirteen (13) local testing centers in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

SC conducted the exams through Examplify, a secure examination delivery program in which examinees will use their devices in their preferred venue, monitored by in-person proctors and closed-circuit television cameras in exam rooms.
How many examinees took the Bar Exams 2024?
As per SC, 12,246 aspiring lawyers are expected to take the exams, 5,234 are first-timers, and the rest are re-takers. Below is the turnout of examinees in the 3-day grueling exams:
- First Day: 10,502
- Second Day: 10,493
- Third-Day: 10,490
Passing Percentage of Bar Exams 2024
To pass the Bar exams, an examinee must have a general average of 75% and no grade lower than 50% in any subject. While this is typical, SC En Banc may also adjust and lower the passing percentage.
The passing percentage was lowered to 70% in 2012, and it was likewise reduced to 73% for the 2013 and 2014 bar exams.
Previous Bar Exams
The Bar Exam is one of the highly anticipated licensure exams conducted yearly by the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
During the September 2023 bar exams, 3,812 out of 10,387 (36.77%) examinees passed. Ephraim Porciuncula Bie from the University of Santo Tomas ranked first in the exams, with 89.2625%, followed by Mark Josel Padua Vivit from Ateneo de Manila University, having 89.1250%.

About Bar Exams
The Philippine Bar examination is an annual licensure exam conducted by the Supreme Court of the Philippines through the SC’s Bar Exam Committee. This is the only licensure exam for professionals not regulated by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The September 2024 Bar exams are the 122nd licensure exams for all aspiring lawyers.
Candidates who have failed three times in the bar exam are not permitted to retake it unless they re-enroll, pass the regular fourth-year review classes, and attend a pre-bar review course in an approved school.
