PLE PASSERS: September 2018, October 2018 Physician, Medicine Board Exam Results

Manila, Philippines – The September 2018 & October 2018 Physician Licensure Exam (PLE), Medicine board exam results including the list of passers, top 10 examinees, top performing schools and related announcements are available at this website as PRC officially released the results online five (5) working days after the last day of board examination.

As announced,  3,717 out of 4,542 examinees successfully passed the exams.

SEPTEMBER 2018 & OCTOBER 2018 PHYSICIAN BOARD EXAM RESULTS SUMMARY

The September/ October 2018 Physician licensure examinations are administered by PRC Board of Medicine headed by its Chairman, Dr. Eleanor J. Galvez and its members, Dr. Edgardo T. Fernando, Dr. Eleanor B. Almoro, Dr. Ma. Graciela Garayblas-Gonzaga and Dr. Clarita C. Maaño on September 8-9, 2018 and October 27-28, 2018 at PRC testing centers in Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao.


POSTPONEMENT/ RE-SCHEDULED DATES

PRC has postponed the exams scheduled on 15-16, 2018 due to the onslaught of Typhoon “Ompong”. To quote,

The Professional Regulation Commission and the Professional Regulatory Board of Medicine inform the public that the Physicians Licensure Examination (PLE) scheduled on September 15-16, 2018, to be held in Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao is POSTPONED due to the impending onslaught of typhoon “Ompong”. The postponement is in consideration of the latest forecast of PAGASA-DOST on typhoon Ompong and its expected impact especially to Baguio where Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 was raised, including expected extensive flooding in Manila. PLE shall be rescheduled to a date that will be announced soon.


PRC likewise announce the new/ re-scheduled date of PLE. To quote,

The PLE shall be held on October 27-28, 2018 in Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao.
The new schedule took cognizance of the other already scheduled professional licensure examinations and the availability of facilities in the various testing centers. 

REGISTRATION DATE & REQUIREMENTS

The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be from November 19 to December 7, 2018.

PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for all passers effective March 30, 2016. Initial registrants are advised to register online via http://online1.prc.gov.ph/, an online application and registration portal of PRC.

Here are the registration requirements:

  • Notice of Admission (NOA) – for identification purposes
  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Passport-sized ID Photos in white background and with complete name tag (2 pieces)
  • Documentary Stamps (2 sets)
  • Short Brown Envelope (1 piece)

PRC added that successful examinees shall personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

RELEASE DATE


As per Resolution No. 2017-1068 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2018”, the target release of September 2018 Physician or Medicine board exam result will be on September 20, 2018 (Thursday) or four (4) working days after the last day of exams.

Since it was re-scheduled, September 2018 and October 2018 PLE results are estimated to be released by October 31, 2018 (Wednesday) or after the early November 2018 holidays (November 1 & 2, 2018).

However, results may also be out earlier or later than the target date without prior notice.

On the same board exams administered by PRC on March 2018, results were released after three (3) working days.


EXAMINATION COVERAGE

The four-days Physician board exam covered these areas:

  • Biochemistry; Anatomy and Histology; Microbiology and Parasitology; Physiology; Legal Medicine, Ethics and Medical Jurisprudence; Pathology; Pharmacology and Therapeutics; Surgery and Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology and Rhinology; Medicine; Obstetrics and Gynecology; Pediatrics and Nutrition and Preventive Medicine and Public Health.

PREVIOUS EXAMS

Physician/ Medicine is one of the programs with average number of examinees being administered by PRC.

In the most recent Medicine board exams conducted March 2018, 1,067 out of 1,601 (66.65%) examinees passed.

Jerald Lalaguna Pelayo from University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 88.17% followed by Jay Ruyeras Orehuela from Southwestern University – Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine having 88.00%.

In the top performing schools list, Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation was the lone school having 150 out of 168 examinees passed or 89.29% overall passing rate.

On September 2017 exams, 3,340 out of 4,064 examinees passed. Vincent Edouard Anthony Retardo Gullas from University of Santo Tomas (UST) ranked first in the exams garnering 90.50% rating followed by Jan David Choa Monzon and Robert Carandang Reña, both from De La Salle University – Health Sciences Institute having 90.08%. Cebu Institute of Medicine and Saint Luke’s College of Medicine shared the top spot in the top performing school having 100% overall passing rate.

    Dream ko rin sana ang maging community doctor, kaya lang hindi ako pwedeng tumigil sa pagwowork dahil kailangan kong buhayin ang sarili at magulang ko. Kahit may scholarship pang binibigay ang gobyerno, alam naman natin kulang iyon kung wala kang kahit anong suporta kahit kanino.

    Sana iyong mga nakapasa makatulong kayo sa mga malalayong lugar na mas kailangan ang serbisyo ninyo.
