MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has cancelled the schedule of the Year 2021 Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLE) in Middle East countries due to the increasing number of COVID-19 Delta variant infections.
In view of the global uncertainties caused by the surge of Delta Variant, the highly contagious strain of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) that affected worldwide, including the Middle East, resulting to implementation of border closures, travel restrictions, lockdowns and curfews, the Professional Regulation Commission informs the public that the 2021 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for Overseas Filipino Workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and other Middle East countries has been CANCELLED.

Several board exams scheduled on first and second quarter of 2021 were cancelled and re-scheduled (see below) due to COVID-19 pandemic. However, there were also licensure exams that pushed through following a strict health and safety protocols imposed by the commission. Among are the board exams for Medical Technologists/ MTLE, Social Workers, Veterinarians and Physicians/ PLE.

PRC has released the schedule of board exams for the year 2021 on November 2020 through Resolution No. 1283 Series of 2020. These includes the opening of online processing, deadline of filing, target release of results, among other important announcements.
