Mechanical Engineer

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the schedule of online application, as well as requirements for application in August 2020 Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Certified Plant Mechanic (CPM) licensure exams.

The board exams for ME and CPM will be held on August 22 & 23, 2020 at designated testing locations in Manila/NCR, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Lucena, Tacloban and Zamboanga.

Below is the detailed schedule for August 2020 Mechanical Engineer board exams as per PRC Resolution No. 1210 s. 2019 or the Schedule of Licensure Examinations for the Year 2020.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER ONLINE APPLICATION 2020

Applicants are likewise advised to apply online via https://online1.prc.gov.ph/ or https://online.prc.gov.ph/ before going to the venue. Applicants are also encouraged to pay through UCPB (over-the-counter), Land Bank (i-access), or PayMaya.

LIST OF REQUIREMENTS

PRC also reminds applicants to secure all requirements before proceeding to PRC centers for further processing of applications and also avoid further inconvenience.

  • NSO / PSA Birth Certificate
  • NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
  • Transcript of Records with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” (first timers and repeaters)
  • Valid NBI Clearance (first timers and repeaters)
  • Payment of 900 pesos – complete
  • After three (3) failures, rest for one (1) year

    COVERAGE OF ME BOARD EXAMS

    The August 2020 Mechanical Engineering board exam covered topics from Industrial and Power Plant Engineering (35%); Mathematics, Engineering Economics and Basic Engineering Services (35%); and Machine Design, Materials and Shop Practice (30%).

    Certified Plant Mechanic board exam covered topics from Elements of Power Plant Machinery (30%), Shop Machinery Practice (35%) and Elements of Industrial Plant Machinery (35%).

      PREVIOUS EXAMS

      In the recent Mechanical Engineering licensure exams held on August 2019, 3,928 out of 5,563 (70.61%) passed the ME while 59 out of 137 (43.07%) passed the CPM. Lester Corpin Toledo from Cebu Institute of Technology – University topped the Mechanical Engineering licensure exams having 94.65% while Elisha Joyce Bacolod Villanueva from University of the Perpetual Help System Dalta – Las Piñas topped the Certified Plant Mechanic having 85.55% rating. Batangas State University – Alangilan was the top performing school in ME board exams having all of its examinees passed followed by University of the Philippines Diliman having 97.33% overall passing rate.

      During February 2019 exams, 1,538 out of 3,046 (50.49%) hurdled the Mechanical Engineering while 31 out of 87 (35.63%) passed the Certified Plant Mechanic. Jayson de Torres Perez from University of Batangas ranked first in the ME exams garnering a rating of 92.40% followed by  Rau Lance Binaldo Cunanan from Mindanao State University – General Santos City having 91.40%. In the CPM exams, Arjay Marcial Repoyla from Kabasalan Institute of Technology topped the list having 88.65% rating. Batangas State University – Alangilan was the top performing school in ME exams having 90.15% overall passing rate while three schools shared the top spot as CPM top performing universities at 100% passing rate namely Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, Visayas State University – Baybay and Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas Inc.

      During the August 2018 Mechanical Engineering board exams, 3,092 out of 5,084 (60.82%) passed the ME while 69 out of 142 (48.59%) passed in the CPM. Fernando Murillo Remojo Jr. from Southern Luzon State University – Lucban ranked first in the ME exams garnering a rating of 92.65% while Dionisio Abancio Java III from Technological University of the Philippines – Visayas and Gerald Satumba Mendoza from MFI Foundation, Inc. in Pasig shared the top spot in the CPM board exams having 85.90% rating. Malayan Colleges Laguna was the ME top performing school having 94.74% overall passing rate while the Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Taguig in CPM board exams having 100% passing rate.
