MANILA, Philippines (Update) – Malacañang said that classes in all levels (public and private) and government work will resume tomorrow, October 18, 2017 (Wednesday).
Malacañang Palace through Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that there is no truth behind news circulating on social media that classes and government work are once again suspended for Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

The Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON) led the two-days protest on October 16, 2017 (Monday) and October 17, 2017 (Tuesday) in Metro Manila and other areas nationwide in opposition with the planned phaseout of old jeepney vehicles of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
Malacañang Palace has likewise declared class and government work suspensions on October 16-17, 2017 due to the said transport strike.
