#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions October 14, 2016 (Friday)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on October 14, 2016 (Friday) might be announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGUs) due to effects of bad weather conditions brought by Tropical Depression “Karen”.

As of 7:00 PM, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Friday, October 14, 2016.

Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.


According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 PM, 13 October 2016,

At 4:00 PM today, the Tropical Depression “KAREN” was estimated based on all available data at 520 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (13.5ºN, 129.0ºE) with maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 13 kph.

Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger possible flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Bicol region and the provinces of Quezon and Samar. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, rest of Calabarzon, MIMAROPA, rest of Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds coming from the west to southwest will prevail over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.
