#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions September 15, 2016 (Thursday)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on September 15, 2016 (Thursday) might be announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGU) due to bad weather conditions brought by Southwestern Monsoon or “Habagat” and the current Typhoon “Gener”, with international name “Malakas”.


As of 10:00 AM today, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Thursday, September 15, 2016.

Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.

PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE

According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 AM, 15 September 2016,

At 4:00 am today, the eye of Typhoon “GENER” was estimated based on all available data at 800 km East of Casiguran, Aurora (16.7N, 129.6E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 22 kph.

The eye of Typhoon “FERDIE” outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was located at 545 km Northwest of Itbayat, Batanes (24.4N, 118.3N). It has maximum sustained winds of 160 kph and gustiness up to 195 kph. It is forecast to move North-Northwest at 20 kph.
Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms is expected over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro, Palawan and Western Visayas. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest to West with slight to moderate seas.
