#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions September 16, 2016 (Friday)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on September 16, 2016 (Friday) might be announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGU) due to bad weather conditions brought by Southwestern Monsoon or “Habagat” enhanced by Typhoon “Gener” (with international name “Malakas”).

As of 6:00 PM today, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Friday, September 16, 2016.

Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.

PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE

According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 PM, 15 September 2016,

At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon “GENER” was located based on all available data at 615 km East of Tuguegarao City (17.8°N, 127.5°E) with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 25 kph.

the center of Tropical Storm “FERDIE” outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was estimated at 860 km Northwest of Itbayat, Batanes (27.1°N, 116.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustines up to 100 kph. It is forecast to move north at 20 kph. 

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Western Visayas and the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest to West will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest with slight to moderate seas.
