#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions September 17, 2016 (Saturday)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on September 17, 2016 (Saturday) might be announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGU) due to bad weather conditions brought by Southwestern Monsoon or “Habagat” enhanced by Typhoon “Gener” (with international name “Malakas”).

As of 7:00 PM today, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Saturday, September 17, 2016.

Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.

PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE

According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 PM, 16 September 2016,

At 4:00 pm today, The eye of Typhoon “GENER” was located based on all available data at 220 km east northeast of Basco, Batanes (21.4°N, 123.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph. It is forecast to move north northwest at 20 kph.

Rains with gusty winds is expected over the province of Batanes. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Ilocos region and the provinces of Apayao, Cagayan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.


Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Visayas and rest of Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest with slight to moderate seas.
