MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on September 5, 2016 (Monday) are announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGU) due to bad weather conditions brought by Southwestern Monsoon or ‘Habagat’ enhanced by the Low Pressure Area (LPA).
As of 12:00 noon, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Monday, September 5, 2016.
Provinces
- Abucay, Bataan: All levels (Public and Private)
- Balanga City, Bataan: Preschool to senior high school
- Marilao, Bulacan: All levels (Public and Private)
- Meycauayan, Bulacan: All levels (Public and Private)
Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.
PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE
According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 AM, 05 September 2016,
At 4:00 a.m. today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 430 km East Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (23.1°N, 125.1°E). Southwest monsoon affecting Luzon.
Monsoon rain which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Zambales, Bataan, Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative region, Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
