MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions on August 11, 2016 (Thursday) are announced at certain areas by Local Government Units (LGU) due to heavy rains brought by Southwestern Monsoon or ‘Habagat’ enhanced by existing Low Pressure Area (LPA).
As of 6:00 AM, below is the list of areas with class suspensions on Thursday, August 11, 2016.
- Classes Resumed
- Caluya, Antique – All levels Public and Private
- Lipa City, Batangas – Preschool to Elementary Levels Public and Private
- Talisay, Batangas – Preschool to Highschool Public and Private
Colleges and Universities
- De La Salle Lipa – Preschool to Elementary
Meanwhile, cancellation of classes for colleges and universities will be at discretion of school officials/ administrators.
On August 10, 2016, LGUs from several areas have declared no classes from preschool, Senior Highschool to college due to harsh weather conditions.
PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE
According to PAGASA weather update issued at: 5:00 AM, 10 August 2016, at 4:00 AM, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 635 km east of Basco, Batanes (21.0°N, 128.0°E). Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon and Western Visayas.
Monsoon rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), CALABARZON and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Mindoro and Palawan. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over the rest of the country.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail throughout the entire archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
