MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang Palace announced cancellations of classes in public schools as well as government work suspension on October 31, 2019 (Thursday) from 12:00 PM in preparation for the All Saints Day on November 1, 2019.
The announcement was issued on October 30, 2019 through the Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 69 signed by the Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
To provide government employees full opportunity to properly observe All Saints Day (November 1, 2019) and to allow them to travel to and from the different regions in the country, work in government offices on 31 October 2019 is hereby suspended from 12:00 noon onwards.
However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.
Meanwhile, suspensions of work and classes in private companies and universities are at the discretion of their administration. To quote,
The suspension of classes in private schools and work in private companies and offices are left to the sound discretion of their respective heads or employers.
